The official opening of Burgundy House and the Launch of the Regional Literacy Action Plan

Thursday 21st March was the official opening of our new Swords FET centre, Burgundy House, along with the launch of the Regional Literacy Action Plan.

It was an incredible day attended by both students and staff alike and allowed us the chance to showcase the real work that goes on at the Adult Education Services as well as a chance to highlight the results of this work.

The room was filled with creative pieces from the community education classes including paintings, woodwork, pottery and knitting. There was some extraordinary pieces on display.

We also exhibition letters from the ‘dear future learners’ ETB week event where learners wrote letters to their future selves on their learning experiences. It proved quite the draw for the attendees.

We hope this is the first of many events in our new centre.
