Course Information
The aim of this course is to equip learners with the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to communicate at a lower intermediate level in English.
Progression
This is the second level of accredited English language courses. The course is at a lower intermediate (post-elementary) level. This course is a single module and not a full award. It gives students an opportunity to progress towards ESOL QQI level 5. Afterwards, students may access other programmes offered by Adult Education Services.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have a good command of conversational and written English. They are assessed prior to placement on this course. Suitable candidates should be able to express themselves in familiar situations and be able to deal in a general way with non-routine information.
Certification
QQI Level 4 in English for Speakers of Other Languages, 4N1180.
Attendance
This course will be:
Part Time – morning, afternoon or evening
Eligibility
This course is funded under BTEI funding. In order to be
eligible for free classes, applicants must be:
- An Early School leaver, and/or
- In receipt of a Social Welfare Payment, and/or
- A holder of a GP or Medical Card
- Signing for Credits
