What can I learn?
The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and qualifications to improve their English language skills to progress to further education or employment. The course is structured to provide students with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognised English Language certification:Cambridge English Exams B1 Preliminary. Students also achieve QQI Level 3 Employability Skills Award.
How is this course taught?
This course is taught in a relaxed, friendly, teaching environment by experienced language teachers over a 9 month period starting in September 2024.
Start times are 9:15 and finish times 13:15 approximately, Monday to Friday. The course follows a school calendar with mid-term, Christmas and Easter holidays.
When will this course take place?
The next course will start in September 2024 and finish in May 2025.
Who can apply for this course?
Eligible Adults (See eligibility below) who live in the Fingal and surrounding area can apply for this course. To ensure that you are offered a place on a course which is at the right level for you and appropriate to your learning needs all applicants are assessed prior to placement on the course. You must screen at A2 level English to qualify.
Am I eligible for this course?
This course is funded under VTOS funding. In order to be eligible, applicants must be:
- 21 or over the first day the course starts
- in receipt of a Social Protection Payment for 6 months (156 days) immediately prior to starting the course. Please see the VTOS ‘Am I Eligible?’ section of FAQs for a list of qualifying social protection payments.
- A2 level English is a requirement
